Hello fom Italy:
Visit My You Tube Channel .
I have this equipment:
Line 6 Variax 700 guitar;4 kinds of effects:
Roland VGA-5 Guitar Amplifier (11 COSM ampliefier type and 10 COSM speaker types that one can freely combine to create sounds; 4 types of effect that can be used simultaneousely: EFX (Wah, Tremolo, Compressor, Slow Gear, Phaser and Flanger that any of them can be selected at one time), delay, chorus and reverb;
a pc equipped with e-mu tracker pre audio interface/mobile preamp (software: Cakewalk SONAR LE 6.2, Steinberg Cubase LE 4, Celemony essential, IK Multimedia Amplitube LE, SFX Machine LT, E-MU Proteus VX) and an Empire PS-2120D speaker system;
another pc equipped with e-mu 0404 audio/midi interface (software: Cakewalk SONAR LE, Steinberg Cubase LE, Ableton Live Lite 4 for e-mu, Steiberg Wavelab Lite, IK Multimedia AmpliTube LE, SFX Machine LT, Minnetonka diskWelder Bronze (text version) and e-mu proteus Vx) and an IK Multimedia stealth plug guitar/bass usb cable audio card+amp & fx Modeling software (software: tracktion 2.1, t-racks eq, sampltank 2, amplitude 2 live);
I have also a discret electric and a good acoustic guitar.
I usually use the most recent Band in a Box last version to create accompaniment tracks when I play piano or guitar.
Until now I've rarely used Variax 700 guitar, Roland amplifier and all the software included with the 2 e-mu sound cards.
My questions are:
1) I would like to buy Line 6 pod x 3, also because i've the variax 700 guitar, to start recording with my pc and use it as a multieffects but i think that I've 2 good e-mu sound cards and isn't better to buy a daw software or upgrade one of the software that i have in light edition?
I would like to register on my pc, using the accompaniment created with band in a box, my parts of piano, guitar and voice (i've also a shure sm58 microphone and a virtualizer pro dsp2024p).
2) Which is a good acoustic multieffect to use with my roland amplifier and eko acoustic guitar corral model (I use a pickup to connect it to the amplifier) and a cheap Ibanez classic guitar equipped with a tuner, volume, bass and treble control?
3) Does my Roland cosm amplifier keep the original sound of my variax 700 guitar or how must I use the roland amplifier to render the original sound of my variax 700 guitar? My 65 watt amplifier can also be used in manual control to use it as a regular analog ampliefer (it has other than the knobs to control amp and speaker cosm also 2 input - high and low -, a gain, a volume, an equilizer, a presence, the 4 types effects and a master knobs.
Thanks to all of this great guitar player community that will help me to clarify my doubts. Francesco.
