Unfixable(?) Fret Buzz

I have a B.C. Rich Avenge SOB that I really like. There is one problem though, it has terrible fret buzz. I raised the bridge a lot and it only helped a little. the first fret is unplayable, and the higher frets suck to play because the strings are so far away from the fretboard. Is there anything I can do? I was thinking if the neck-bridge-string-holder-thingy could be removed, I could just put some thin piece of something under it, raising the strings up where I need them to be raised.
Anybody ever done this, know if it will work, or knows if it's a terrible idea?
Any other ideas? I would really appreciate it.

Hand & Wrist Positioning

I'm learning a song, "Polaris" by The Human Abstract, that involves a lot of stretched-out chords and runs etc. After just ten minutes or so my wrist get's very sore, and it makes playing even harder. I was wondering if there is anything I can do about, hold the gu itar differently or get a guitar with smaller frets or something.
Maybe my wrist will just get used to the positions it's getting in after a while?

I'd Like To Introduce Myself

Hey everyone. I am a 16 year-old aspiring metal guitarist.
I've been playing a few years, but only lately have I been playing a lot like I used to. I've been in a few bands, but have only played two actual shows.
Anyway, I listen to a lot of music, and I collect CD's and stuff. I have over 50GB of music on my computer and 100's of Cd's. My guitar playing reflects that, I think. While it's mostly metal, anything interesting and creative I like.
Some of my favorite bands are Arsis, Persefone, Shaolin Death Squad, Aeon of Horus, Cynic, BtBaM, and Trivium. (Couldn't possibly name them all)

I work a lot, but am homeschooled, so I have plenty of time in the day to play guitar. I would like to make myself a practice schedule or something. I really want to become a great musician. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. I also love to talk about music and gear.

I'm not a social person really, so I don't know what else to say. Ask about anything else!
