Hello GMC, After 11 months working my way trough this lesson, starting from 80bpm till 160bpm, I have reached the summit with a beautiful view ;) It has been a long and hard journey because It's is a hard lesson to learn but the satisfaction is big when you finish lessons like this. Again many thanks to Monica who has been my mentor and provided me with very necessary guidance because I think it's impossible to make this journey alone. I proudly present my REC take... A-minor Solo

Hi Monica,

Kick-off of a new lesson! I have studied and practiced the first half of the lesson at 60 bpm.

It's again a beautiful sounding lesson even at 60bpm.

Here's the take!



Analysis:
19: the slide is not audible
33: the pull off with the pinky is hard to do because there's also an accent on this note.
57: the pitch of these 3 bends and the timing is difficult. I have also read Darius comment on the 'slap' sound. I have tried to apply it. Don't know if it makes a big differences in my performance

I'm happy how it already sounds. I have the feeling this lesson is going smoother than winter ballad to learn.

I have also started to learn the second part. Maybe you want to check out slow video 6 at 1:00. I was watching it to learn the picking direction and was really confused how he made the high E-string ring on the second note on the 17th fret before going in vibrato! Until I figured out after a few minutes the video and sounds were not in sync!

I think there's also a mistake in the TAB of video 6. The second bar as shown on the pic below:

Deftones Style

Hi Monica (and Dan ),

Here we are again with the start of a new lesson! I have spend about 5 hours to learn the new lesson and to produce this first take. The lesson feels much easier then let's say the alternate picking lesson which took me at least 14 days to learn the whole lesson by heart.

I really like the sound of this lesson. Although I (shameful) had never heard of Deftones before, I love to play this lesson! First time I play with the guitar in a different tuning (drop D). The lesson does not have very difficult parts as there're just 3 parts that repeat themselves a few times. So I was surprised I could learn the lesson in a few hours, especially compared to some of my previous lessons

Here's the first take!



Analysis:
I can be very brief about the analysis.
The rythm part feels like it's going well. I don't have timing issues (maybe just at the very end but I'm not sure).
The vibrato needs work Although it's not that bad I think
But I will work on the vibrato separately...

Let me know if I can raise tempo or not, hahahaha
