Does Each Level Of Difficulty Prepare You For The Next?

Under Guitar Lesson>All Guitar Lessons, if I were to start at absolute beginner, then move on to beginner, and then intermediate and so on, will each previous set of lessons have prepared me for the next level? In other words, if I do each lesson in order, will they actually take me from, "beginner," to, "insane," with out any holes?

New To Gmc And Could Some Help

Hey guys,

So I just joined GMC last night. My main goal is to be a competent metal guitarist, so for "creating my lesson plan," I did "beginner, Metal." While some of the videos were helpful, other ones weren't as much, specifically the "play in the style of," videos. I don't understand what the instructor is doing and the descriptions are too theoretical for me. So I need some advice on where I should start? I've been playing guitar for a while, but I'm 100% self taught. So could anyone help me figure out how I can use GMC to get a fully balanced understanding of guitar?
