Heya!

Skank guitar parts are the most "aggressive" and percussive of single-note lines and maybe the most difficult to master.

Sound

I use the middle pickup in this example and the Mesa Boogie V-Twin preamp on the clean channel with a nice and smooth
sounding compression pedal, the Maxon CP-101.

Theory

The skank technique requires that you isolate a single note while muting the adjacent strings with your left hand.
Here we use the E pentatonic minor scale.
