Welcome to my latest lesson in the style of Alexi Laiho.
THE PROFESSOR Learning how to rock the Dorian Mode, Phrygian Mode, and Aeolian Mode will get these cool Alexi Laiho sounds under your fingers and into your playing!
Alexi Laiho is a Finnish vocalist, composer, and guitarist. He is best known for being the lead guitarist as well as lead vocalist for melodic death metal band Children of Bodom - Wikipedia
I think Alexi is one of the best guitarists to come out of the modern metal era due to the fact that he's got excellent rhythm chops as well as brilliant lead skills. His solos are always memorable, full of catchy melodies and they're never too long. If anything they always leave you wanting more.
Children of Bodom have a lot of material in the tuning of D Standard so that's what I've gone with for this lesson.
You're going to be hitting some riffing straight off, followed by some lead.
This lesson will work on:
- Rhythm
- Palm muting
- Alternate picking
- Tapping
- Vibrato
- Sweep picking
