  • This month, let's talk about chromaticism and how to add some spice in your playing !
    It's a good way to break monotony and add a little or more tensions in the phrasing.

    The concept is pretty simple - we gonna add some non diatonic notes i.e. some outside notes.
    Of course each outside note will add tension, different colours depending on how & when they are played.

    Having a good visualization of the scales all over the neck will be great help.

    So the basic scale here is the B Dorian mode ( we could also visualize the B minor pentatonic scale if it helps ).
    The backing track is build around the Bm7 chord, 105bpm.
