  • Hey and welcome to my first lesson!

In my first lesson I want to show you how to play a shuffle fingerstyle blues.
Please bear in mind that we are dealing with a shuffle blues, so the time feel is really important in this one.

If you are not family with that rhythm, check out some old blues songs!

The chord progression is a standard 12 bar Blues :

    E7 | E7 | E7 | E7 |
    A7 | A7 | E7 | E7 |
    B7 | A7 | E7 | B7 |

    This Lesson will work on:

    - Blues form
    - Right hand picking
    - playing bass and melody at the the same time
    - basic blues rhythm

    Tuning:
    E A D G B E - Standard Tuning

    Tempo:
    74bpm

    Gear:
    Fender Strat
Using the bridge and middle pickup together and slightly rolling off the tone to 8
    Guitar Rig 4

Always remember that the thumb is playing the bass as quarter notes, except for the last two bars.
If you have problems, isolate it and play the entire piece with the thumb without the melody and vice versa.

I would suggest to learn both parts individually.
To get it more under your fingers and ears practice each bar separately, so it is way easier to get it under your fingers

I hope you'll enjoy this lesson as much as me making it.
I bet you already have it down. Just keep on practicing!

Thanks and good luck with this lesson - Fabian Ratsak
