  • Hey GMC

Continuing on from last months lesson Phrase Displacement Exercise 1 (triplets) I have put together this lesson which looks at phrase displacement using 16ths.

With the 16th division of the beat we get 4 places to begin our phrases (1 e + a). The imoportant thing here is to work on how you feel the divisions of the beat, the more confident you get with the e and the a 16ths the more you'll groove and the more in time your feel will be.

The main focus with this lesson is to allow you to take the method and apply it to all of your phrases and licks rather than just learning the couple from this lesson. This type of rhythmic play can seriously change and refresh the way we see and hear our phrasing.

    Enjoy!
