I think there is no general rules - it's just the simplest way to play this arpeggio pattern .
Of course the thumb plays the lowest note and for other fingers it depends on the chord.

Lol...Hummm yes, you could try these arpeggios to impress the girls, but the best way is to play "the ultimate song": Stairway to Heaven...

Well, yes nylon strings are smoother and easier to play than metal string but on classical guitar the neck is larger... it could easier on your nylon guitar, especilly for the first barre chord.
You could also play these arpeggios patterns on the electric guitar, it's just some right-hand exercices.

Hi GMC!
In this lesson we gonna see some right-hand arpeggio exercices to improve our fingerstyle guitar technique. These arpeggio patterns will help us on our right hand fingers dexterity and independence.
Here is the notation legend for the right-hand fingers:
T= thumb
I= index
M= middle
A= ring fingers
To makes things more musical, I've chosen a simple but nice chords progression:I B- I Gadd9 I D#/F# I E- I
(The third bar contains a D chord with the 3rd (F#) on the bass)
I advise you to work on each pattern separatly, with a metronome and/or the backing track.
As always, practice slow and pay attention to the rhythm placement, especially on more syncopated arpeggios.
