Riffing in the style of Mr. Nuno Bettencourt of Extreme

We are focusing on some Metal's sub-genres. This time we'll spend some time on Power Metal!

A New Metal riff and a melodious solo with some influences of Evanescence and Toby Mac. Alternate picking, Vibrato, Slides and Palm muting.

As in the previous lesson from this series called Riff Master, we will focus on metal riffs from Metal sub-genres.

By using just one finger on a single string, we can concentrate on what's really important.

How to create some fusion type of riffs using simple tools.

This lesson begins with a "rocker riff" in the style of Audioslave or Rage against the Machine and then we have a nice and not too difficult solo in E pentatonic minor scale that includes many interesting rock licks. We will explore different techniques as vibrato, bending, legato, artificial harmonics and double string licks.

In this series we´ll work on riffs, groove and rhythm. All we need to improve our skills.
