This lesson is about Melodic Power Metal Solo, something in the style of Helloween, Edguy and Stratovarius.

This time it's more in the the style of Melodic Death Metal, and it is influenced by bands like In Flames and Soilwork. It uses only downstroke picking, alternate picking, arpeggios and Pedal note rhythms.

I was requested to do a new lesson focused on Power Metal Rhythm, so I will show you some common things in this awesome and fast style!

A tapping etude to add some ideas to our vocabulary.

A power metal rhythm lesson inspired in the style of Angra, Stratovarius, Rhapsody of Fire and Sonata Arctica. When I finished the guitar work I recorded some orchestra arrangements based in a style created by the band Rhapsody of Fire called "Hollywood Metal".

In this lesson we will use speedpicking licks to create a speed riff. If you ever listened to any power-metal bands you probably wondered how do they come up with their riffs and speedriffing is a good example of that. When you finish playing this riff you'll notice that all we did was combining simple powerchords with scales. Sounds interesting? Get on it!
