Hi All, At the risk of sounding like a n00b, we're just submitting a 30 second clip of our solo right? I noticed the backing tracks were only that long and wasn't sure if people were looping them or everyone is just doing 30 seconds. Sorry if the answer is obvious. Yes - this is correct. You can download the backing you would like to jam over and submit your solo over it in any duration (soloing over full backing or just partially). If you wish, you can also make your solo shorter. Everything works! In the final mix, all the takes are combined/mixed together to form a unique musical sounding piece/song. Great to have you in this collab - please feel free to ask if you have any questions or need any help along the way. -------------------- For GMC support please email support (at) guitarmasterclass.net

These are two awesome and fun backings guys! Here is a little improv I came up with this evening for the fast one. What do you guys think, should I submit this, or should I noodle around with it some Moore? https://soundcloud.com/richatthelake66/gary-moore-tribute-collab Ak like your take... the chorus sound reminds me blues played at 80's or maybe a Scotfield sound, good licks! Sounds fresh and really not boring good improv sure you had fun with this. If i was in Alaska i take two beers and go to play with you man! |

As you have been very fast, I would improve the take a bit more. Mark the weaker sections on work on them, improve them, change them... experiment a bit. We still have time. -------------------- My lessons

A bit late to the party but COUNT ME IN!!!
In Gary's honor, we have prepared this collab, having 2 backing tracks in which you can use the minor blues scale and the major one at two different tempos, so that everyone can feel free to jump in and jam!
If you want to sing the sorrow or you want to jam for joy, we've got both options ready, so come and join! But first, let's see the tech specs: ------------------------------------------- BACKING TRACKS This collab is based on Piotr's: Ballad and Blues II: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Ballad-and-Blues-II/ Tempo : 90 BPM - Slow minor track [attachment=36174:collab5_slow_90bpm.wav] Key : A minor Tempo: 135 BPM - Fast major track [attachment=36173:collab5_...t_135bpm.wav] Key: A major ------------------------------------------- Here's everything you need to know about how to enter this collaboration: 1. Download the backing track and open it in your recording software 2. Record your part in the recording software and with your video cam (if you have the possibility to record video). You can record anything - a short fill part, rhythm based ideas, or a full lead part (solo). 3. Render one track containing your recording only - 16 bit wave file 44,1 kHz 4. Render one track containing both solo and backing track in an .mp3 format 5. Send us your video (preferably in .mp4 format) As before, you can send us the last 3 files mentioned, using a dropbox link, or any other transfer service you are used to, by posting them in this thread or attaching them to a private message. If you can't submit a video, you can send us only the audio files and some pictures of you - it will work out great as well! The more pictures you send, the better will it be for editing in the final video! When attaching/sending the collab files, please include the source file of the video as well. Very important: IT DOESN'T MATTER IF YOU ARE A BEGINNER/ ADVANCED/ PRO/ GOD - all styles, approaches and all levels are welcome and you can even play just a short fill if you feel like it! Bringing your contribution to this track and tribute to the GMC community is what really matters! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Collab tips: As in the previous collabs, we want this one to stand out as much as possible, because this will give your playing and progress maximum exposure. So here's what we suggest: Making short but polished and detailed lines will always give you better results! If you focus on a short part of the backing track, then you will most likely amaze yourself and others! No explicit need to play over the full backing track length, pick any amount of bars you feel most comfortable playing over. It is always better to come up with something short but catchy or memorable! Check out these lessons for inspiration in respect to minor and major blues phrasing: Garry Moore Ballad Lesson Mixing Major and Minor Boxes Lesson Blues Shuffle Minor/Major Lesson Peter Green Style Lesson Hyper Blues Lesson Blues Duet Rhythm and Solo Lesson For detailed blues study, check out the Blues Guitar Theory Guide. Scales you could use: A Aeolian (A natural minor) A blues major A blues minor Remember - the only thing we require is that you participate and be yourself - there are no rules, and no limits! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Deadline: April 10th Participants: Cosmin Lupu, Darius Wave, Gabriel Leopardi, Spock, Sensible Jones, Guitarrero, tflava, wavo, Renan, Procyon, Caellumamittendum, AK Rich, Koseydon, Monica Gheorghevici, gregc1, Ricky9, Huargo |
