  • Hi Gmc-ers! After hours and hours of practicing some basic sweeping patterns, I finally reached my desired speed of sweep picking.

    This is essentially the second part of my previous lesson named "Neoclassical Sweeps, Jason Becker Style". The basic difference is that for each chord I play only one position of the particular sweeping pattern. At each section's end I play a descending lick in E phrygian dominant, which is basically the fifth mode of the A harmonic minor scale.

    Chord Progression:
    * A - D - G - C - F - B - E
    * A typical neoclassical cliche

    Tuning:
    Standard

    Equipment:
    * Epiphone Les Paul Prophecy
    * Active EMG-s
    * Guitar Rig4

    Techniques:
    * Sweeping
    * Legato
    * Staccato
    * Vibrato

    If you have any questions:
    * Give feedback (upper-right-corner)

    * General Forum

    Remember, practice everything slow at first, and eventually speed it up untill you get to the desired speed.
