Hey guys! In this lesson we take a look on the clean&lead styles of the metal band Opeth. Our own
GMC member rockztar requested this lesson.

I tried to create a clean backing track that resembles some of Opeth's music and has similar characteristics. The clean portion of this lesson can be played either by fingers or with a pick.

Opeth's lead player Mikael Åkerfeldt often has a very melodic and bluesy lead-style. He utilizes
a lot of legatto playing as well, to give his solos that "smooth" feel.

Here's some aspects that this lesson handles:

-Smooth vibrato
-Hammer-ons & pull-offs (legatto)
-Creating melodic solo-ideas
-Fingerpicking
-Octaves in solos

To hear great Opeth-leads I suggest you check out their albums "Damnation" and "Ghost Reveries".

I've also added backing tracks of the clean part with various BPM's, so you can practice soloing over it.

Hope you guys like it!
