Hi guys,
I've been doing some research on guitars,im hoping to get one soon.I'm not able to tell the difference between these things.


Prestige RG1570

Prestige RG2550Z

So why is there a difference in the price?
I was wondering whether it be better to go for the RG1570 and just customize it with good pick ups.
If so,which of the pickups from the site i've specified.

I expect my budget to be around 60-65k in my currency.What do you guys suggest?

I suggest you convert the currency into USD or EUR

Accidentally I'm looking for the same type of the guitar Personally, I believe that all the prestige guitars are good, thing is that I don't play metal (anymore) so it would be shame to by expensive guitar that I can not take with me on a gig or something. It just doesn't suit me anymore. Anyhow, any prestige i.e. 1570 for instance, is really good guitar, nice finish on the neck, almost no flaws. It comes down to tastes and looks, I like rga and rgd series as they are eye candies. 1570 has HSH configuration which I don't prefer nowadays. I'm so close on buying one RG2620z myself, HH configuration.

Hmm,so budget is about $1400 (approx)
Prestige RG1570=$1065
Prestige RG2550Z=$1300

And most of the EMG/DiMarzio Pickups cost around $100-$130.

Difference between 1570 and 2550 is the bridge and pickups mainly. 2550 has Dimarzios made for Ibanez, hence the Dimarzio/IBZ model. I'm no expert but I'd say the bridge on 2550 is better too, as it's the same bridge they put on all their high end models.

2570 is the same as 2550 without pickup, just in case you want to check it out too


Just checked IBZ site and it seems they are putting edge zero bridge on 1570 now. So no difference there either. They change their models every year, they used to put Edge pro on 1570s, which was good too.

The Rg 2550 and the Rg 1570 are almost the exact same guitar build wise! The RG 2550 comes with a pickguard and the rg 1570 does not. The pickups on both are equally bad so you would have to replace them on both anyways sooner or later.

It comes down to which one's look you like more. Get the one you think looks better and upgrade the pickups because they only differ in looks and not in woods, hardware, or buildquality!

i have the ibanez rg2620. And i don't really like the sound of it. it lacks warmth and sounds to sterile and industrial.
I'm not looking for a shredder axe. im looking for a warm and full sound for blues, ballads and even jazz. I play through an Orange Rocker 30 combo.
What pickups would you suggest

Well you bought a basswood-bodied shredding guitar which is not the first choice for warm bluesy tones! You could get a set of DiMarzio Paf Pro pickups for a rounder and less sterile tone but the pickups can only alter your sound so far...
A real warm and full tone comes from the guitar itself so you might want to think about getting a Les Paul or something similiar!

yeah i know, i was pretty impulsive to buy it i have a tokai japan les paul. Since i dont shred i thought a pickup change would make some use of it

Oh yeah the pickup change to the Paf Pros will make it a very versatile guitar!

haha.. cool man.. I saw the budget is quite huge. I could never buy a guitar as a kid/student. I bought all my gears only after I could earn enough, virtually starve 6 months to buy my first guitar... thankfully / luckily I can now afford to buy more gears. Thats why I was a late starter anyway.

Budget hasn't been finalised.I thought it would be better to spend more on a GOOD guitar rather than just get an average guitar for a slightly cheaper price.Im looking for a quality guitar which i can keep for a longer time instead of changing on a regular basis.
