I have a friend who's being endorsed by Spector and one by Sandberg, both metal players - the first is more proggy and the second is a straight up, in your face metalcore dude.

There's a funny story with the Sandberg guy - He is one of my best friends and last year we played with our bands in a big festival here and at the end of the show he literally threw his bass in the audience so that someone could catch it. He accidentally hit the guitarist of another band who was in the audience and broke his glasses and his head, a little biggrin.gif Check out the photo taken RIGHT in the moment when he realized what was going to happen:

I've tried wads of basses and for the price especially, I have yet to find anything that compares to the Ibby basses. Everything else in the range seems to have a neck like a Telephone Pole, especially on 5 string units smile.gif I went with a really cheap IBBY 5 string and it played better than any other bass on the rack.

But some folks like telephone pole style necks smile.gif To each his own!!
