There were as many or probably more racism moments against white people done by "other" after the election than the other way round.

Hmmm ... no.

The most important this 4 years is to preserve your legal rights as good as possible. Trump supporters will start pressuring various races and sex of citizens, even at small scale incidents responce must be immence.

It has already begun. There have been many appalling incidents in the past few days, in which women an minorities have been threatened. Sadly, America is not a good place to be right now if you are not a white man.

There was widespread grief in America after 9/11. This is similar, but different. You see tears in people's eyes everywhere you go. But it's not grief. It's shame.

Hmmm ... no.

Of course there are and continue to be. There are elements of rascism and bigotry in the protests and riots we are now seeing and there is a high probability that the fires are being fanned by Soros. And the number of calls for Trumps assassination is unprecedented for an incoming President.
Also during the last 4 years. Ever heard of the knockout game? And what about the Black Panthers idea to segregate the country?
It happens on both sides, no doubt about it.

Some news that is relevant.

http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/20...p-imaginations/

On the side, it may be interesting to note that Trump did very well with women voters and he also did better than Romney did in 2012 with African Americans and Hispanics. Still a low percentage but better than Romney. He also picked up folks who had voted for Obama in one or both of the last 2 elections. Interesting no?

And to those who may bemoan the percentages of Caucasians that voted for Trump as somehow being racist or bigoted. Let's not forget the percentages of African Americans that voted for Obama, and the percentages of Caucasians for that matter.

Let's be real... Breitbart is not news, neither is Huffington Post or the Onion for that matter. Stephen Bannon is the executive chairman of Breitbart News and the chief executive officer of Trump's presidential campaign. Dear lord, I can't believe I'm even commenting in this thread, I so just want it to go away.

Maybe it's news , maybe not. What you say about Bannon is true. But if we are going to look at potential conflicts of interest like this. There are a great number of them involving most mainstream media as well. And truly objective journalists may be a dying breed, which is sad.

This is a good example of false equivalency. Sadly, it's not equal. Here is an ongoing account of the horror minorities are enduring post election.

https://www.buzzfeed.com/tasneemnashrulla/r...NwQ4#.ruVANnRZK

Also, I noticed you even used a brietbart link to support an argument. That site is an "Alt Right" bastion. It's not a news site. It's faaaaaaar right propaganda
In case anyone needs a reference to what they are about, here ya go
"Bannon has bragged that Breitbart News is “the platform for the alt-right” -- a rebranded white nationalist movement that is opposed to immigration and embraces racism, sexism, anti-Muslim bigotry, and anti-Semitism."

http://mediamatters.org/blog/2016/10/14/tr...ex-jones/213842

So yeah, just not a good source.

Regarding the exit polls, the proper way to look for correlation to a scalar variable like education level is by using the first derivative. When you do that, it's clear why Trump "loves the poorly educated" (those are Trump's words, not mine. Don't shoot the messenger smile.gif).

If you're looking for an even stronger correlation, see fear. Voters who expressed fear of terrorism and immigrants voted overwhelmingly for Trump.

On a lighter note, married men who believe their wives voted for Trump far exceeded the number of married women who actually voted for Trump smile.gif.

However, the one exit poll that matters is the one that asks James Comey why he used the offices of the FBI 11 days before the election to tilt the victory towards Trump. I haven't seen the results on that one yet.

Okay , for a mandate to drain the swamp , this does not look like a good choice , but I thought you said you give it a shot

shooting down breibart reports with media matters and buzzfeeds seems slightly silly

We know there are racist elements on each side , as long as we do this we won't build bridges

Bit the bullet , your side lost , why , don't say racism and sexism won . Ken is at least honest and showing some self reflection.
is their anything you can say that obama didn't do right , cause if there isn't , it shows that you are unwilling to acknowledge that alot of Obama supporters turned to Trump , and if you can't acknowledge this you are not ready to mend ( no matter your rhetoric )and you might as well not post in a building bridges thread

can we at least all agree that no matter who was elected , trudging out of 20 trillion in debt is a nightmare for either

and so what are the ways you start ?If you ask any financial guide , the first thing he will tell you is to stop spending . YOU CA NOT SPEND YOUR WAY OUT OF DEBT . If not, that means you have to make some hard choices , as in my own challenge to free myself from credit card debt . IT HURTS , ITS PAINFULL , you cant buy cell phones for your kids when all their friends have them , you have to buy ground beef and macaroni and cheese instead of steak I wouldn't even mind getting taxed a little more if I knew it would pay down the debt , but to be taxed higher for congress to overspend is beyond me.

So to reiterate , guys , to get out of this debt will be painful , but if you do care for future generations , it will be a lot easier now than when the dollar starts devaluating quickly and hyper inflation happens , as in Venezuela

My personal problems with Pres. Obama ...
1) The ACA should have had a 'public option'. Without it, it's just guaranteed insurance - which is a for profit enterprise.
2) Syria is/was a disaster, red line or no red line.
3) He should have never said anything about closing Guantanamo. In fact, I personally think we need to keep it.
There's probably more if I think about it.

No such thing as a perfect president or a perfect candidate. If you wait for a perfect applicant, you'll be waiting a long, long time.

So yeah, using them as a reference is like using the KKK web site as "proof", just not a good source.

Wow. The stuff some folks actually believe just blows me away sometimes and I live in the South. I walk among hard core racists every single day. I"m undercover as a "white guy" smile.gif Then I read things on GMC that are even beyond what I hear on the street here. Egad. sad.gif MAREK honestly thinks that what he is saying is true. It's not, of course, but on the "ALT RIGHT" web sites, they sure bill it that way. So folks that gulp all that hateful crap down, spit it right back up. Whats worse, one of the most racist/alt right/semi facist web sites (Brietbart), now has one of their own in the President Elects CABINET! Uggh. It's gonna be a long four years.

Well let me say this then. If Trump turns out to be anything similar to the extreme picture you seem to be painting of him, I will most assuredly be right there with you trying to ensure that he is run out of the Presidency and the country on a rail. And I believe the vast majority of Americans would do the same.

Gentlemen, can we all lighten it up.

I would not say this about most of the other Republican candidates from the primaries, I would not care for them, but still I would not think we were headed for inevitable disaster with them. America is going to find out how insane it was to let someone with Trump's character and temperament, a man with no experience whatever in public service, ever even sniff the presidency. I went into denial for a bit, with a hope that what we saw in the campaign was not the real Trump. I have discarded that illusion.

The country's real problem is illustrated in the chart below. That began with Regan and has continued ever since. You can see that after 1980 the wealthy have gotten a steadily increasing share of national wealth and that 90% of the population has seen theirs steadily decline. And as we have seen with Trump, the wealthy often pay little or no taxes.

I figure this is just something America has to go though, it has to learn the hard way. It will be painful, but it won't last too long. The rats will jump ship as the insanity of this man being elected becomes apparent, and as the next congressional elections approach, and after that he will not be able to do much more damage. A lot of us will be casualties in the next 4 years, but in 2020 things will get going in a good direction.

And the Democrats will get their chance to gerrymander the districts. The Democrats got 3 million more votes for the House than the Republicans, and the Republicans still have a big advantage in House seats because they held the House in the 2010 census. The Democrats got 6 million more votes for the Senate, and again the Republicans have more seats. And Clinton looks to end up with 3 to 4 million more votes total than Trump. And that is even with the systematic disenfranchisement of Blacks, who on average have wait times twice that of White people to vote, due to efforts by Republican controlled states to make voting access more difficult for them. Well it is a matter of time, we will overcome, we can sing that to make us feel better until the inevitable arrives, provided we live long enough.

Sigh. I was never, personally a huge fan of Obama or his policies in general. I did like the idea of affordable health care smile.gif It was "obamacare" that allowed me to get insurance while working as a freelancer. Otherwise, I would not have had any. For those who don't know this guy (I"ll avoid media matters and buzzfeed links just for crsn!)

And yeah, bridge building is one thing, not saying something when a guy like this Alt Right mouthpiece gets appointed is something else. You gotta call him on it. Just gotta.
I was hoping he would appoint a few folks that were maybe, not white? Not Alt Right? Sadly no. As a result, we have very angry people in the streets. sad.gif Despite your rhetoric, about my rhetoric smile.gif It looks to be off to a bad start sad.gif

Same here. Here is the kicker. Now he says that he is going to keep the part that prevents insurance companies from denying people coverage. The joke is, by saying that, he is saying that he is going to replace Obamacare with something better, and that will be OBAMACARE! Because if preexisting is covered, people will just get coverage when we need it, if they get diagnosed with a serious illness, or if we need an operation. So that means that to make things work people must by law be required to have health insurance, or insurance premiums will rocket to the moon. And if people are required to have insurance, the government will have to provide subsidies for those who can't pay for it. So you see, his plan now, is to replace Obamacare with something better and great, Obamacare!

Or they could just throw the public that can't afford insurance or who have pre-existing illnesses under the bus. I have heard that the political cost of that would be too much for them to really bear, but we will see.

Anyone in Europe, see what we are telling you, how awful this man is, how awful the Republicans are? They are inclined to throw 40 million Americans to the wolves to save medical costs. Not just with Obamacare, they have a similar plan to cut Medicaid which provides insurance for those in poverty. Can you even imagine anyone in your own countries doing that?

Todd: You like dogs. You should have seen this today, on a walk. This woman and her son had this dog with a coat on, the oldest most broken down dog you ever saw. It could hardly walk. A Border Collie. But they were caring for it lovingly, just helping him along. I was so touched. Now I do the same thing, I have a 20 year old cat in a similar situation, I care for them to the very end. But it was nice to see that that someone would love a dog like that. Maybe you have never heard this old Cat Stevens song, "I Love My Dog". It was his very first release. Neat song.

I did hear about that smile.gif It started with "Repeal Obamacare!" at the rallies, then it turned to "Repeal and Replace", then, "Repair OR Replace", now probably just keep most of it smile.gif hehehe.

I do love dogs smile.gif My Dog Schatzi is 14 YEARS OLD!! So he's around 100 or so in human years, yet still things he's a puppy smile.gif I walk him every day. Glad to hear you are tending your kitty smile.gif Kitties need love too! Kitty pix would be cool and help lighten up things so feel free to share smile.gif

In the mood of levity, here is the very funny John Oliver being funny about Trump. smile.gif

Are You Suffering from Trump Acceptance Resistance Disorder (TARD)?

Trump Acceptance Resistance Disorder is a pattern of pathologically dissociative and psychotic behavior, first observed in the late hours of November 8th 2016, and increasing in severity with passing time. Sufferers of Trump Acceptance Resistance Disorder often exhibit pronounced cognitive dissonance, sudden bouts of rage, uncontrollable crying, suicidal ideation, and extreme sadness

Signs and Symptoms

People with Trump Acceptance Resistance Disorder are characterized by a persistent unwillingness to accept that Donald Trump is going to Make America Great Again.

Individual sufferers often display signs of paranoia and delusion; in acute cases psychotic episodes have been observed. Trump Acceptance Resistance Disorder is different from being upset about the results of the 2016 presidential election; People with TARD are unwilling or unable to accept reality, despite irrefutable evidence.

According to the DSM-V, individuals with TARD exhibit most or all of the following symptoms:
- Telling others they are moving to Canada
- Fixated on fantasies about the Electoral College
- Protesting an election no credible source contests the outcome of - Exclamations that “Someone” should do “Something”
- Acute change in demeanor from pompous and arrogant to fearful and combative
- Claim that anyone who disagrees with them is some combination of Racist, Sexist, Bigoted, Homophobic and actually some sort of Hitler persona

Causes and Mechanisms
Trump Acceptance Resistance Disorder was directly caused by the election of Donald Trump as President of the United States of America. For many, both in America and worldwide, this was a shocking and unexpected outcome; their preferred news sources having failed to inform them that the alternative candidate was a criminal parasite in such ill health she got chucked into the back of a van like a kidnap victim.

Research is ongoing, but TARD appears to correlate closely with the following environmental and behavioral factors:
- Membership in the Democratic party
- Identifying as a Feminist
- Currently enrolled in college and/or - Possession of a Liberal Arts college degree
- Cuckoldry
- Living in a densely populated metropolitan area
- Massive student debt
- Spotty or non-existent work history
- Hipsterism

Diagnosis
Diagnosis of Trump Acceptance Resistance Disorder is straightforward. Ask the patient if Donald Trump is going to be the Next President of the United States of America. Some patients will become agitated, and may attempt to deflect. It’s critical you press them on the issue, even if they start babbling about ‘muh triggers’. A sufferer of TARD will begin to ramble incoherently, often displaying three or more of the symptoms within a short period of time.

Treatment
The only known effective treatment is exposure therapy. The patient must be repeatedly exposed to reality and should wear a Make America Great Again hat as long as they are able to tolerate it. Each exposure should increase in length, after a week the patient should be encouraged to be seen in public wearing the MAGA hat. Coach the patient to refer to Donald Trump as President-Elect Trump. Patients with TARD are very resistant to treatment, and dangerous in large groups. Any possibility of treatment requires that they be separated from their hive-mind support apparatus; they cannot begin the process of accepting reality in the presence of encouragement towards delusion and irrationality. Separation may require the assistance of law enforcement. If you have a friend or loved one suffering from TARD, urge them to seek treatment. Together we can beat this scourge, and Make America Great Again!
