Meh one week isnt much, you wont loose any skill. But you could just play what you usually play on electric on your acoustic.

If you do your excercises on an accoustic guitar especially on one with steelstrings you might even get better, even if you can't do the exercises on the same tempo as on a electric guitar. It's like lifting weights ... your muscles will have more work to do and when you come home playing on a electric guitar will be much easier

The good thing you could get on the camping is more skill.
Bring iPod or som similar to play MP3,try to learn new tunes along with it. Gripmaster is fine tool for strength, acoustic more then great to get tone from it. -------------------- Youtube

But I think that changing the routine is a good choice and practicing techinique exercises in your acoustic guitar too. gabriel.- -------------------- My lessons

I spent my last camping trip (three days with my little girl girl and her school) as follows:
Day and evening 1: Day - Struggle to get (borrowed) tent up. Evening - daughter walks off disgusted at her dad's complete useless life skills. Late evening tent goes up, Day 2 - re-pitch tent that fell down in night. Evening go to beach BBQ. Come back tent has fallen over (not my fault Some one must have knocked it over .) Day 3 - Tent is a joy to the world - will withstand hurricanes, floods etc. Last day so have to take it down . Play a guitar in all of that????? I wish . Are there any good chord acoustic (steel string) on GMC?
I have a steel string and if i try to play exercises it gets really slow and sound awkard and i cant get my hand to play on higher frets as the neck gets connected to the hole. I need to improve some chord bits and i cant find a lot here (except for fingerstyle and chords in different keys). Thanks -------------------- _____________________________________________________

im going on camp for a week with my school and all i can bring is my gripmaster and a acoustic guitar. is there anything in particular i can do to maintain my skill? I'd suggest you put the guitar on the shelf and have fun for a week. As strange as it may sound - after a resting period when you pick your guitar up again sometimes it happens that you're a better player without having done anything. Maybe the muscles in hands gets a well needed vacation, maybe stuff sinks in to your brain. I don't know.
