When kris finds the time, expanding on the 101 lessons would be excellent.

Yeah, i find it a lot easier to understand a spoken lesson. Otherwise just practicing a tab isint a lesson, you might as well practice a song. The 101 lessons were the main reason i joined GMC, they really point out your mistakes and help you improve (like real lessons). Why has it come to a standstill?

Look at the progress GMC Has made since it began, when i joined, it was lessons and a forum, now we have T-Shirt designs coming out, tons of new instructors of all kinds of guitar playing, theory lessons, gear/album/concert reviews, a better design, a great GMC Tech team, i mean this stuff took alot of time and effort, im sure once Kris is done perfecting GMC, he will do another lesson. cool.gif

Ok, heres another - so I decide to change my strings on my Jem ... I have been using Elixir 10s. I have a stack of boxes of them that I bought ... or so I thought. It was only after I had all the strings on and was wondering why the tremolo wasn't rising up at all that I notice THEY WERE 9 GAUGE!!!!

I spent a lot of money on a pile of totally the wrong strings. I either use them and have to adjust my tremolo, but I don't like 9s now ... or I have to use EB Regular Slinkys, and will probably still have to adjust the darned thing .... The Lady Galadriel is unplayable ... oh woe is me sad.gif

I guess thats a little bit worse than my problem wink.gif

sorry to hear that. I dont know how I'd feel if my main ax was unplayable. jeeze thats a terrible thought. I wouldn't be able to eat, wouldn't be able to sleep, wouldnt be able to get intimate. I'd try to play my other guitars to try and console myself, but i wouldn't even bother tuning them or even play anything with any sort of melodic structure. I'd wander around the city, into the local guitar center and stare at the other Schecters (because I bought the last hellraiser) and remember what it was like to graze my fingers on its mahogony skin. then, saddened and meloncholy, I would lock myself in the unisex bathroom and cry for 3 hours.

gladly, Jane is still playable. whew wink.gif

I bought a new guitar on eBay over a month ago...and I'm still waiting for it. Totally sucks...I feel like a kid who's had to endure a months worth of Christmas Eves...just waiting for my new toy! Hopefully I won't have to wait much longer; the guitar I'm using now I've had for over 20 years, since I was 12; and it was a bargain basement guitar back then!

I ordered a Ibanez GSA 60
It's one of the less expensive Ibanez models, but it will be a vast improvement from what I'm using now. In January, I'll be getting some money from a buy-out I took from my last employer...then I'll be looking for a MAJOR upgrade cool.gif

My mate claims to have got three string sweeping basics down, as such I must have 5 string sweeping down before we next meet for practice - next friday, I'm getting there, although I dunno about tempo at this stage. tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif

If you're going down that route, I'm compelled to mention Schecters, since Smikey isnt here yet.

I don't really know that much about Schecters, never played one or even seen one in person...but this one looks pretty good. How do you like yours?
