Hi Laurent, this means that the note continues ringing without playing it, so you play it once in the first measure and it keeps ringing. In order to make this easier to follow I recommend to check the song or solo that you are learning to understand exactly how this sounds.

Hi Gabriel

work'in hard on a bit tricky Opeth tittle "hours of wealth"

the main parts are known, i have work the solo at 50%..... but it seem to work nicely

some parts are tricky for me..... specialy after 1:34..... i can play the melody but a bit too much slow, i have saw some method to do it, but this one i use seem to be the most as they play it.

the solo is joyfull for me (at 3:45) , i play near as it as !!! i surprise myself today!!

so still work on !! and other drilling stuff

Special thankx to my friend Baal41 who help me to decode some parts !! " tu est un vrais pote Jason ! "

it's a rare pleasure to play some beloved tittle !!!!! very motivating !

That's cool laurent! I have to lean some of these beautiful songs. I love listening to them.

Does their last album (Pale Communion) include many acoustic songs as this one too?

I'd like to hear you playing this one...

Hi

you"ll can listen some parts soon !!!!!

so as i can't have a backtrack, i'll do everything by myself, as i'll do for "faith in the other" , i have found a new way to play it with two guitars, the tittle is now well known, i'll record a demo soon !!!

Pale communion is placed between damnation and ghost reveries.

i have buyed a double book with damnation and deliverance in standart CD format, and provided with two DVD in Hires audio version of the both albums, listen it in 192Khz float lostless format with a 192 Khz audio card, is awesome !!!!

i'll share some parts i'll record maybe tonight !

edit:

i have done a try with two track, without timing base it's a bit weird. at the end, i do a big distorded chord...... i'm sorry !!!

https://soundcloud.com/laurent-377054242/opeth-test-2

edit:

a try with the backtrack and voice, can't stop to do errors.... maybe tired
but still have timing issues..... not an easy tittle to play

[attachment=44016:opeth_test_3.mp3]

Cheers

Laurent

Hi Laurent! You've been working really hard!

I've listened to both versions and I can note that you've learn everything well and now it's time to adjust everything, to be able to play the chords and arpeggios smooth and keep timing. Practicing over the backing track is very important to achieve this so try to focus on it. If you are not comfortable with tempo, you can slow the backing down, but please practice over the backing.

i have record two take, one with the main guitar, and another with chords, i do a try about a small solo impro at the end, but the preset wasn't the right one, this solo wasn't premedited !

[attachment=44024:in_my_ti...lo_impro.mp3]

Nice!

Is the chord at 00:53 right? I'm not sure but maybe yes... just check it out.

Another question, are you analyzing a bit the chords and tonalities used for composing these tunes? The theory behind masterpieces can be really inspiring...
