Here is a tune I have been working on recently - where I have experimented with a new, lower voice. As usual suggestions are very welcome as I am trying to learn how to make my mixes (etc) as good as possible. Thanks for listening!

The chorus is really catchy! I like the firing riffs and the melodic but simple bass under it! The "new" voice definitely resembles a bit of Tankian and a bit of Rammstein vocals. The solo builds up cleverly but still remains kinda rhapsodic (lots of time-feel shifts) which IMO is very effective and I really like the tone!

I'm no good at mixing but for me the tone of the intro riffs and the galloping part is a bit unusual. For me it lacks a bit of lower frequencies or did you simply but some kind of filter over it? Later on it becomes more natural (probably because of the bass?)

Overall this is very-very fine song with a vibe that is original! I love it!

Thanks for the awesome feedback Berko - now that you say it I get a similar feeling. I am thinking that it could be that the original guitar sound should have had a little more bass frequencies. I still think the mix as a whole has some bottom in it - but next time I will probably follow your advice and dial in a little more low-end from scratch.

Hey Kris, I really like the chorus! It's a bit more open then the verses, I like that! Solo is cool to! You developed your melodic ideas, they aren't the same as your old speedpicking lines!

Thanks Kaznie and Kjutte - it's always a challenge to not repeat yourself too much when soloing. This time around I was in drop C# so I could experiment with some wilder bending (thanks to the lower string tension)
