Hi Denis and no problem with questions, not at all.
You said one interesting thing tho, melting or mixing melodies/riffs together. You see, sometimes we can make 3-4 very compact songs by using parts from one song only. The point is, there are many ways to compose a song and there a different types of songs as well. Per example, Dream Theater very often make songs like 6 in 1. On the other hand you have tunes like Great Gig In The Sky by Pink Floyd (check it out) which is very simple tune using 2-3 chords but it still rocks big time. At the end it comes to you, what kind of song or songs you're about to finish? I would suggest you a very simple way if you're not 100% sure about your work (I bold this line cause many composers never asked for opinion about their work). Record and listen! Try to listen as an ordinary listener and not just as a musician, perhaps you'll notice some parts in there that you really don't need. Or you'll notice that you need one extra part! And also play it to someone else, relatives, friends etc. let me know if I missed something. -------------------- Youtube

I tried the recording thing and it already helped. But it still is a really hard thing especially if you try to avoid sounding like it's already written by someone to whom you listened to . It's not just you, it happens to many, specially today when there is a LOT of music around us and we simply get under influences easily and without even knowing, it's normal! I believe the one and only solution is to listen to some other artists and styles, listen and analyze those things but also listen as a neutral listener to somehow get "the mood" from different styles. And with enough composing skills you'll be able to "blend" different flavors and come up with something that doesn't sound too much like anything you played or heard before. I said too much cause it's almost impossible to invent 100% unique sound and style, all we can do is to mix things and throw a piece of us in there. I saw you are an endorser for shredneck. What are your experience with it? It's great warmup tool! I use it every once in a while, it's small, light, you can use it almost everywhere and anytime. -------------------- Youtube

I undersatnd that it is not tunable and it's maily for the left hand? Can I practice picking on it? How much does it cost (I guess I colud order it from you)? I'm just one of the endorsers, I do not sell it, you'd have to go to shredneck.com or some online store like Thomman.de etc. http://www.shredneck.com/ http://www.thomann.de/gb/shredneck.html?si...fe5c1a4895b6c82 It's about 40-60 euros. About tuning, it's just a neck (7 frets) so the tone you're getting is not the real tone to play with, it's just sound that comes from those short strings. But you can "tune" it to get different tension from strings, yeah. It's very small compared to real guitar, has no bridge so maybe practicing picking isn't greatest imo but many guys use it for picking as well. I use it for left hand only tho. -------------------- Youtube
