ascending ocatve-somewhere over the rainbow
descending major second-Mary had a little lamb
ascending minor second-isn't she lovely

Wonderful to see another Ear Training topic smile.gif

Robert already gave you very helpful link for interval training (musictheory.net)

As far as song list goes, I would definitely recommend you come up with your own list.
I will give you some that are really well known :

UNISON - Happy birthday (first two notes - same pitch) ; Hey Joe (very opening , open E string and E on B string 5th fret), Mission impossible etc

Minor 2nd - Chromatic scale; TI DO (ascending) or MI FA (ascending) - inverted DO TI or FA MI. Green Hornet ( from Kill Bill vol1 soundtrack!) , Jaws etc

Major 2nd - Major and Minor scales ascending (DO RE) ; You Really Got me ; Descending - Sunshine of your love (intro riff E E D E B Bb A E G E) and of course descending RE DO in scales even DO TE (mixolydian, aeolian , dorian mode descending etc).

Try learning these well first then I will give you more examples for other intervals !

Nice software indeed, 21 days is plenty of time to have fun
and test yourself nicely, after that you can decide to buy it
or to continue testing yourself some other way. smile.gif

It does look like a good software. I still think you should come up with your own tune list tough smile.gif

I use the same software, but after the 21 days of trail I could continue to use it. Though every time I open it now there is a 'please buy this software' pop-up appearing. Nothing else seems to happen though, and I didn't do any hacking either.

actually since ive learnt piano for some time im very good with the do re mi style thing so im using it. it isnt perfect but songs feels like cheating and also like a habbit that will be hard to get rid of. anyways what i like about it that it structures your learning. you start from the a very distinct starting line and when you get to the end you know you are very good. its like a how to manual that no matter how hard it is you know that when you finish it youve reached your goal. its the first time i feel like i made real progress. even thogh i have a very very bad hearing

That is a good way of starting, for each interval find some melody from which you will extract first two tones with which it begin.

Don't feel like you are cheating with songs. It is definitely helpful and needed to do that in the beginning phase. After a while your ear gets used to it and you are all set !
