Decination
===========

Tyranous gaze, from a throne of bayonets
The self destructive antithesis of all that is legitimate
Encompassing two worlds, set for collision
No questions poised,
No clever descisions

Oceans of blue within a sea of red
Differentiating the new from the old
Glorified, the new age constantine
Yet another duplicate to the fold

Recruiting the masses on false promises
Selling the world, for the price of a life
Flying that flag for a broken democracy
Baying the politicians, playing with knives

Constructing a desert,
Christened by the name of peace
Callous disregard, as worlds collide
The masses stare on in an awestruck disbelief

Blind, the truth in your minds eye
Deceived of all destructive obtrusions
Stare into the careless void
Behold, a murderous dream of sycophantic illusions

The silenced lie shrouded underneath a hill of poppies
Opiate seeping reality into their unliving -
A still sea of lifeless bodies
Set to endure the ever lasting contemplation
Life everlasting only to their dying statement
This is no jaded conflict, this is decination

Again, critism very much welcome and appreciated.

I'd like to also point out that Decination is a neologism - a combination of two words that combine the meanings of another, as such its not a real word but one that I've forged myself. In this case it combines decimation and nation, so in this case stating the decimation and destruction of a nationality.

These really are my sort of lyrics. I love them a lot. Have you got the songs for these anywhere as I really want to hear how they work in musical terms. You are definitely better at English than me lol. biggrin.gif

Did have a basic track planned out for this one, but its too short/badly structured musically to post and the other piece I only wrote yesterday.

If my band ever gets its act together I'll be sure to post something up.

Until then I'm afraid its just the lyrics. smile.gif

I liked it, I'm not good at giving critisism, but keep it up! For how long have you been writing lyrics?

About a year now, since I started playing in bands I think.

Always loved writing and reading though, I get my inspiration from that smile.gif

I really like your sense of vocabulary...I always considered that to be my problem, not being able to have enough vocabulary to express my ideas in many different forms (or so I think).
I think you have a great sense of formation and ideas, Love to read your lyrics...Hope you can put them to use someday smile.gif

I thought it was good, but it seemed like it was incomplete, do you have more planned for it?

I feel the same with this one actually, although I'm loathed to add anymore too it as I had so many ideas running through it I felt it was hard to keep track of, I would definately keep the last stanza the same I think but I may at some point add some more in between,

Thanks for your input! smile.gif
