After the article and rumors that Mike Soldano might actually retire, and nothing has been really clear as to what will happen to his biz after that, it seems folks are cashing in big time on his old products. Here are a couple of his older preamps, which have not been built in many years, that used to go for about a third of what they are going for now. This is just the 2 channel version. Not the one folks really want which is the 3 channel version. They are supposed to have the same lead channel, but anyone whose tried the 3 channel will tell you that the 2 channel just doesn't have the same aggressive character. I had the lead channel custom built by a guy in Russia for my rig as you can't buy just channel 3. I suspect all his gear is gonna keep getting crazy pricey. He's headed for "Dumble" territory it looks like. The good news is that Lasse Lammert has already profiled most of the cool High Gain amps/preamps on planet earth and will sell you his Kemper pack for less than a used boss overdrive. Thank God for that man!! He's the only reason I'm thinking of getting a kemper at some point smile.gif

Also in the "CRAZY" price territory are the LEE JACKSON (Metaltronix) tube preamps that Zakk wylde used to use during his Crazy Babies era. These are going for somewhere near $1,000 each for a single channel preamp. Ouch. These also are vintage gear, haven't been built for decades and only cost $600 when brand new!! Now they are pushing double that. Wow. I saw a vid on youtube where a guy rebuilt zakks rig complete with the yamaha spx90 reverb/chorus that gave zakk his signature sound(Those units are only $100 on ebay!), here is the vid.

So I went and looked up the jackson preamp/power amp. OUCH!!!! Amazing how some gear finds a new life and the price goes nuts!!!
