So a friend of mine and I have a healthy gear competitiveness. We probably both loose in the end by buying too much gear, but it's been a lot of fun trying to beat each other to finding gear we're both interested in.

So a few months ago I had been craving a Les Paul again. My Firebird took the place of my les paul when I ended up in a deal I couldn't turn down. I had finally been grasping the difference between the different types (standard, custom etc) and landed on a les paul traditional that I was really vibing with. Dug the heavier weight and big round neck. Held tune well. Pickups were cool, but had a little nasty thing in the top end of the bridge. I never got a chance to check it on a few different amps to see if it was the pickups or the amp I was playing on.

I have a good buddy who works for Guitar Center in Nashville who was telling me he could get a goldtop for a steal for me. Which complicated things.

My plans got put on a halt when I went back to the store and it was gone and I wasn't completely sold on the goldtop, because I couldn't play on it first.

So next thing I know, my buddy now has the LP bug, and buys one. He got a Les Paul Signature T model. Which I had never heard of. Played it today and it's really rad. 60's style neck, little on the lighter side, 57 classics. Very different than my Traditional.

Anyone know much about these Signature T LPs?

Looks pretty traditional to me wink.gif But then again I"m not really an LP guy. Kris Dahl ( our founder) is a bit of a LP guy as well as Gabe and Cosmin. But of course, availability of instruments is not the same in every country as it is here.

My buddy told me the first thing he did was replace the truss rod cover. I would have to agree that being a good call. It's not too pretty.

Reading the info on the webpage, its seems like an attempt to tweak a LP to have both vintage and modern qualities. I'm no expert on LP's but I'd guess sound is close to todays studio while feel and quality leans to standard tongue.gif

I love Les Pauls and this really looks the business.Seems similar to the 2013 Standards from what I read in Poster Boys useful link. Different pups and lack of a blow switch for volume boost seems the main difference from the Standards. On the face of it seems like great value for a decent Les Paul. I have a 2013 Trans Amber Standard on my wish list list but this is a real and more affordable alternative.
So many guitars, so little money. Dammit! smile.gif

Sam Ash was blowing them out. I think he got it for less $1,500.

Now my buddy is SUPER stoked because Katy Perry plays a Signature T. (though I think he's just excited about Katy Perry and less about the guitar)
