Hi there,
I`ve been a member of GMC now for a few weeks and sitting here at work bored as hell thought I`d introduce myself.
My names Chris and I`m from Sittingbourne, Kent in the UK, I`m 37 years old married for 2 years now and have a beautiful 1 year old daughter called Stephanie.
I started off playing the drums at age 12 and played for just over 3 years when my parents moved to a neighbourhood that didnt appreciate my drum practice sessions in the garage
after many complaints I gave up and picked up the guitar! now some 20 years on I`m still playing, I`ve never considered myself neither a poor player and certainly not a great player, I fortunatly have always picked up things fairly quickly and much to my wifes disapproval can sit for hours upon hours playing the same piece over and over and over again.
I`m mainly into Heavy rock, Judas priest, Maiden, Ozzy etc but really anything, if I like it I like it
I have four guitars, an Ibanez ergodyne (several years old now), a Jackson Pile of bones (unfortunatly not the USA model), a Fender Strat (Mexican) Buddy guy sig model (seems to be my weapon of choice at the moment) changed the bridge pickup for a hotrails humbucker, and an OLP MM1 (cheap as chips but plays fantastic!)
I only use stomp boxes for effects, I`ve tried various modelling gear and just not got on with it, I like to keep things nice n simple, a lot less to go wrong IMO, 4 stomp boxes, Behringer UM300, Behringer Chorus, Behringer Multi FX and a Boss EQ.
I use a Crate 150watt Power block head and run it through a Behringer 4x12" cab.
For recording I use a Boss BR8 digital 8 track, bit old now but does what I need.
Currently in a band and play a mixture of covers and originals, some I`ll post at some point.
I`ve joined GMC to improve and learn new techniques and skills, I have a strong desire and passion for playing and am enjoying the 2 or 3 lessons that I`m working on at the moment, the Muris lessons are a great challenge!
Sorry for going on, I did say I was bored
all the best and good luck everyone
Chris
