Good question!
If it's true that the pentatonics are a very big element of the blues, there are more that you can use here...
As you probably know, there are 2 types of blues. Major blues and minor blues.
For major blues, you should add the Mixolydian mode.
For minor, play with the Dorian mode.
Try them out and try to mix a minor pentatonic with the Dorian, then try to mix major pentatonics with Mixolydian.
Search for these 2 modes on the search box, there are quite a few lessons dealing with these 2 modes.
Hope that helps!

O.K I've learned the Pentatoinc scales forward, backward, sideways, with and without blue notes and I'm having a blast playing around in them. But what other scales are good for playing the blues or maybe I should ask what scales are not good for playing the blues? Basically the only scale I know is the pentatonic, major, minor and blues. It has become clear to me that the blues are what I'm all about, so I guess I'm looking for a little direction as to what scales to learn next. Thanks for your advice!!
