My Jackson KE2 has a wonderful Floyd Rose Bridge, however it's a little git when it comes to string changes, quickness is not its key when I have to reset the float!

Im wanting to change to a Schaller bridge, but dont know which to go for as I would like it to be a relatively straight forward swap...structurally and cosmetically.

Basically a bridge with the features of a Floyd, without the hassle dry.gif

Any ideas??

p.s. Doesnt have to be Schaller, I've just heard good things about them and Steve from Area54 popped one on his Kelly, he just cant remember what bridge it was...

I wouldn't swap out a floyd just because it takes a while to change the strings....
Yes, reseting the float is a bitch, but you CAN change the strings quickly without having to reset the float(if you don't change string gauge that is)...here's how https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wwNVjNohOt4 the trick is to block the trem in place, of course some small adjustments may need to be made. There is also a great guide for floating trems in this months Guitar World(think it's this month).

Haha, thats a quality guide there, thanks!

I've already decided to keep the bridge becuase I only need to change strings about once a month...and I do love the bridge in every other way...

Right on dude, I love floyds, even though mine is not a real floyd, it's well worth the trouble for me smile.gif
You can find alot of good guides to floyd maintinence online, remember floyds are awesome, but you gotto keep em set up good or they'll just sound like a fart.
