This technique makes your guitar playing totally scream!!! I keep trying to get it right but it doesnt come out properly. Is there a video lesson on this site that teaches pinch harmonics?. If not can someone explain it in their own words how this is acheived.
Thanks, Jammer -------------------- _____________________________________________________

This is a very requested lesson - there is none at GMC! I will make one - it's on top of my list so expect it by the next week as there are already 2 of my lessons for this week to be lived!

You must be really busy with all these lessons and all. Could you also include natural harmonics in that lesson. Are artificial harmonics the same as pinch harmonics? They sound really cool and it was one of your lessons that reminded me about pinch harmonics. My friends use this technique a lot in their songs, so i would really really be happy if you could post the lesson. Afterall, all my summer is gonna be spent on GMC and learning how to shred since im not travellin and i think you guys at GMC are doing an awesome job (cant be better unless i get a faster internet connection). Since when have you been playing Pavel, cause youre pretty good i think you should use your talent and do stuff like join a band and play live. Maybe your humble and decided to teach people to play guitar...lol (which is rare). Thanks -------------------- _____________________________________________________

Thanks I never use word "pinch harmonics" - i always say Artificial harmonics although Andrew did describe all those names and production of each in his Harmonics theory lesson. Natural harmonics are very simple...i even think Kris has them in some of his lessons - i'm not sure but i think i saw them somewhere. Basic natural harmonics would be on 5th, 7th, and 12th frets. You can make them on all frets but it requires tons of practice. Btw. check out my speed riffing lessons - you'll find artificial harmonics combined with riffs there (in case you didn't see those lessons). I play el.guitar around 4 and half years, i'm 19 so i am sure i'll find a good band to join and play live. But i also like teaching - it's interesting and it also makes you work on yourself and improve your own technique. Well, anyway, enjoy your summer at GMC and look out for those harmonics lessons! -------------------- "It isn't how many years you have been playing, it's how many hours." -- Prashant Aswani "PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!" -- Michael Angelo Batio Check out my video lessons and instructor board! |

I thought it was on the 12th being hte easiest..and then the 7th..then the 3rd..being the hardest!!!...hmm idk i saw that somwhere... That's pretty much what I said in my lesson - 12th is the easiest, but Pavel didn't say otherwise, he just listed the easiest 3. And in reply to Pavel - I think you may be right - Pinch Harmonic is the term that most people use (and I used in the lesson) but they are really one of several type of artificial harmonics. The reason im desperate to learn artificial harmonics i because i joined a metal band and i play rythem guitarist since im good with creating a good combination of power chords but bad at solos. The lead guitarist is good but hes out of the country so he cant teach me artificial harmonics. Guitarists in the area from other bands use this technique a lot (infact theu over use it with their BC rich). I also really need to learn this technique to keep up because im alone now....
If you do make a lesson Pavel can you please post the link here as im new to GMC and cant find the lessons properly. Im having difficulty in the thumb bit, the sound is not coming!!! Do we fret the notes normally or on the fret wires like natural harmonics? Yes i know its a lot of question because im sorta lost. Thanks for helping Note: ignore the spelling errors as im in a rush to go out -------------------- _____________________________________________________

The thumb thing will come with time. Actually what i was planning to make is just a lesson where you can practice artificial harmonics but i don't even know how to explain it in details... the way i learned it was just hitting the strings again and again until i finally felt how to do it!
