Noisy Boss Equalizer

Hi All

I am using a Boss GE7 Equilizer in front of a cranked JVM head, pretty straightworward I thought, but it is totally noisy. As pre-amp equalization is pretty important, I wonder that is happening. Is it just this one or should I look for some other product?
