Hey guys! I figured that we need something else than music to discuss for a change!

Now this show should have three really amazing fights.

Dan Henderson vs Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson
Finally we get to see Henderson fight in the UFC, that'll be awesome. He's the only one in Pride to hold two belts at the same time. His opponent 'Rampage' Jackson will prove to be difficult.
In my opinion it is quite unfair that a newcomer (to the UFC) comes in and marches straight to fight title holders. It's unfair to all the other guys who have to go through years of fighting before a title fight.

Michael Bisping vs Matt Hamill
And then, the other fight I'm excited about is with one of my favorite fighters: Bisping.
Finally we'll get to see him (hopefully) kick Hamill's ass! At TUF3 they always had issues, Bisping pissed off at Hamill all the time due to him receiving special training by Tito etc. It'll be a war!

Kongo vs Mirko 'Cro Cop' Filipovic
Lastly, Kongo vs 'Cro Cop' Filipovic might be one of the best stand up fights in years! I like both fighters a lot, and Cro Cop does have good grappling too wink.gif

And some of the other fights:

Marcus Davis vs Paul Taylor
The 'Irish Hand Grenade' is coming off of two great straight wins against Spratt and Jason Tan (great K.O.).
His opponent Taylor, had a decent fight against Crocota, which he won in the 3rd round by way of T.K.O. This is his only fight so far in the UFC, and I think Davis will win this one on experience alone. I wasn't too impressed with Taylor to be honest.

Houston 'The Assassin' Alexander vs Alessio Sakara
Alexander came off with a huge win at UFC 71 over Keith Jardine (Who is fighting Liddell at UFC 76), and this fight will definitely be a war! Sakara is rather unknown with a lot of newer UFC fans. His biggest win was against Elvis Sinosic at UFC 57. His UFC career has been rather rocky, with two wins and two defeats.
I expect Alexander to win this either by decision or a TKO.

Ok guys, those are in my opinion the most exciting fights of this show, and please comment with your opinions!

On another note, do any of you guys practice MMA like I do?

Cheers and take care!

I used to watch K-1 a lot, so Cro Cop is still active? I still find K-1 more appealing than UFC since I prefere more thand up before grappling. mellow.gif

Hehe, I see. I like K-1 too! I've been very K-1-isized since staying here in the Netherlands. If you didn't know, they have a huge muay thai culture here.

So do you practice any martial arts then?

That's pretty much my prediction as well. Rampage should own Henderson as he hasn't had any real fights for a while, and my heart says Cro Cop, but my brain might say Kongo though.

Jon Fitch Vs. Diego Sanchez is happening on UFC 76 (Sept 22nd). I also remember hearing something about Griffin though. Gotta investigate what's up with that.

I'm all ready for this one....just gotta make the chip dip!

Starting with the Alexander vs Sakara fight I think it can go either way. Alexander is flying high with his win over Jardine but Sakara has a lot to prove if he wants to stick around. Tough to call but I think Alexander will win if he comes out like he did against Jardine.

Davis vs Taylor I have to agree with you. I'm not very impressed with Taylor but then again he hasn't been in the UFC long. I'm not to interested in this match to be honest but I tend to agree with you that Davis will win just by experience even though Taylor like Sakara has some stuff to prove.

Now on to the good stuff.....

I hope Bisping knocks Hamill out cold junk! I hated Hamill in the show and I still hate him. Bisping is an exciting fighter and he puts it all out there....and with the extra added benefit of these two guys disliking each other it should be a good show. Plus Bisping has the fan support being in his home country and all.

Kongo and "Cro-Cop" should be interesting.....I really want "Cro-Cop" to win as I've liked him ever since I first saw him in K-1. The fight against Gonzaga was unfortunate and I still say lucky on Gonzagas part however I hope Mirko doesn't come in over zealous trying to prove a point. Kongo is not to be taken lightly and again a tough one to call but I still pick "Cro-Cop" just because he's 'Cro-Cop"

Rampage and Henderson well like you FlyingFin I don't agree with the new guy getting a title shot right away...even if it is Henderson. Now it is a unification title bought so it makes it a bit better. (also see it as a marketing ploy for Pride) But I call Rampage just as I did against Liddell. He's just got this look lately that says he''ll have the belt for a while. Now it won't be a cake walk by any means but I still see Rampage coming out on top.

Wee. I've also liked Cro Cop ever since his K-1 days, and it was 'unfair' that he got knocked out against Gonzaga. But hey, these unpredictable things are what mekes fighting so fun smile.gif

And yeah, I definitely agree on Rampage. He must be in the best shape we've ever seen him. He is on fire!

I know there's lots of great athletes from there, I saw Remy Bonjaski (spell?) here in Stockholm K-1. And had my photo taken with Mr Perfect laugh.gif
But I don't practice it, I used to do boxing but it's been more than 10 years since I quit that.

And UFC isn't aired that often here... If I happen to zap onto a channel with UFC I will stop to watch, but I don't keep track of what times they are on.

Yeah "Cro-Cop" would have to be in my top 5 faves, I think maybe even top 3. He's just amazing. The unpredictability is a big draw but I like it better when it doesn't happen to my faves tongue.gif (of course everyone will say that)

And as for Rampage......well he is on a rampage! He's in terrific shape, probably the best he's ever been in and he seems to be having fun with it....that makes a lot of difference in my book. He's just very relaxed but focused. Dangerous for his competition.

Can't wait for Saturday! biggrin.gif

That's why I didn't want to say more than what I did about him. I could write a book on how awesome he is.

Oh, I've never been in Canada. I should come by next time Couture kicks some major ass (maybe in a new weight class perhaps?) smile.gif I'd love to watch UFC on an actual TV once in my life haha!

they are actually talking about having an event in Montreal in early 2008....I'm so there if it happens. GSP will be fighting for sure but if Randy is there...well...I may be up on stalking charges laugh.gif
