Hey there,
Today I have the honour to present a little feature we have been working on behind the scenes! As our forum gets more and more active (thanks to all you lovely people participating in it ) - I figured we need a new place for editorial news. This way we will be able to enlighten things that sort of "gets lost in the buzz". We will kick the blog off by presenting...well, check it out by yourself: >>GMC Blog You can expect some cool updates very soon - as we have hinted elsewhere! Also - the idea is to have more people blogging about interesting things in the future! Kris Note about commenting in the blog: The blog isn't yet synchronised with the usernames of the forum - which is why your comments won't appear right away. This is a temporarily solution to avoid porn and poker spam! |

Could you not just copy the recorded track 4 times and pan them differently?

Could you not just copy the recorded track 4 times and pan them differently? Yes, but its nowhere near as good. Its the minute differences that make the techniques sound more stereo and makes the sound bigger - but the differences have to be MINUTE or it just sounds sloppy. You will never play the same thing 100% identical all the time, but you need to be VERY close, maybe 99.9999% Then you get the benefit of the bigger sound. You can so this to some extent artificially using delays and playing with EQ and phase, but its easier and better to play it twice identically. It works awesomely well for acoustic guitar strumming as well. EDIT : Oops, beaten by Muris AND Marcus!
