Here it is!
Some general fiddling around, spot the technical mistakes and chord misses, there's lots! Changed a number of settings during the recording. Started with a mid spring reverb setting and reasonably cranked master and mid volume with the cut pretty much off. The cut dial switches between sounding vintage marshall, deep and bassy, and fender style with sparkling cleans and highs. I switch the cut at one point later on in the recording to give an impression. All these takes are straight into the amp, no effects. Just onboard reverb and an attenuator bringing the volume down. The attenuator is a good one, doesn't suck the tone but naturally you can't quite hear the dynamics of the Celestion being drived. Hope you like, sorry its so long! Hey man, that sample sure sounds cool! Lots of dynamics indeed. I'll research the DR Z attenuator on the web. Thanks!

If you guys want as true as possible pure tone out of a attenuator check this out: http://www.ultimateattenuator.com/index.html The Ultimate Attenuator is as close as pure tone as you'll get. I've tried them all and some are better than others, the bad cat leash was better than the DR Z airbreak but the UA stomps them all. The THDs made me throw up and it's the most ridiculous thing ever made, it's freaking horrific and worthless it sucks a ton of tone specially if you have a boutique amp. I tried a couple with my Einstein 100 watt and it was garbage. I tried two because the first one was so horrible that I thought it was defective. The thing is I don't use my UA much because both my Elmwood and Diezel have incredible MVs that allow me to play at whisper levels and I mean whisper while getting most of the tone (without the speaker air push of course). I highly recommend the UA though and if you could try one you'd see what I mean. |
