I've been planning to do this collab for a long time and here it is now!
First a few introduction words: All instructors are invited and would do me a great honor to have you all on this collaboration to show your own music style and skills. Giving in respect that we have many great musicians that are teachers here at GMC it was a hard decision on what to put as backings. I have give it a lot of thought and it turned out to be trickier than seemed at first. The problem is to find a delicate balance between a universal backing track for everyone to be equal in a way and different arrangements for electric and acoustic guitars, voices, bass. In the end it all came down to 4 different backing track that instructors can choose from. Bare in mind several things before you start. I'm sure most of us know these things but just for the record: - The progression is a simple one intentionally to leave space for improvisation and players diversity - Cmajor key - VI V IV III an the tempo is 130bpm for all tracks. - Backings are all loop-able, but you can make an intro to your solo guitar/bass/voice parts or anything that you may find interesting and consider being in your style of making music. You can notify me about your change and I will mix it up later properly. - I will not change or EQ your recordings in any way so please do the mixing part yourself. I will only intervene with levels when doing final mix in order to preserve your original tone. - The parts should be labeled as the next example: COLLAB_YOURNAME_WITH/WITHOUT BACKING - If possible, upload a wave version of your soloed recording mono or stereo if you use stereo effects or double tracks. - The 4 backings are final. There will be no changes on them. I could add one more, max 2 backings in some different style with a same progression if a number of at least 4 people ask for them. Have fun! I also decided to go for the pop rock version now :-) Is there any desired length that we should aim at or is this completely up to us? And just to make sure I got this right, you want us to upload our solos, WITHOUT the backing track playing in the back, right? Just our addition to the collaboration, you will do the final mix and turn everything into one big jam, right?

I think we can set the limit on max the loops per instructor shall we? In order for me to mix everything properly I must have: 1. version with the backing (so I can sync it properly) 2. version without the backing (so I can mix it properly - if possible this should be a .wav file, but it is not a necessity) can we equalize the backing tracks Ivan ? Sure if you want too. I will use original backing tho.. -------------------- - Ivan's Video Chat Lesson Notes HERE
