Did not entertain me, I found them boring, banal. I am pretty confident that if you strip away all the processing, and ignore the hair and clothes, and you just listened to them in a garage, most everyone would agree that they suck. They will come an go and be forgotten, and the marketing execs will move on to the next product to sell to that demographic group.

.. but up to the moment they will be forgotten, the band and thousand of kids have had a good time. Does it really matter if they suck or not?

laugh.gif If the Tokyo Hotel reads this... I think that he is going to cry... ohmy.gif now serious...
I think that music is also entertainment and show.. maybe they have more show than music but each person has different tastes and it's cool to have variety. Don't you think? I can say that their music sounds with excelent quality (talking technically about the sound), the instruments are very well played and there isn't any note out of scale or pitch. I don't think that this is harmful for kids. biggrin.gif

Talking about Music + Show... for me Jane's Addiction was a cool combination of both... and Gun's & Roses too.

I think all these "emo/glam or whatever this kind of music is called gets too much ****. I'm definetly not into it, but it sounds like standard rock to me (ok, I've heard one song with them, once, but still) and it's not that horribly bad that I feel the urge to commit suicide or anything, it's just kind of simple standard rock that doesn't have anything special (imo) but they are definrtly not bad enough to get people to "hate" them. It's standard rock music, nothing more, nothing less imo. Nothing to get upset about, except the image they have wich is horrible.

Well, to me they are just like Boy Bands from the 90's. I see or hear very little difference, except that the Boy Bands generally have better singing voices. And if they were demented, kept it more to themselves.

you and I may be saying the same thing in a way. You find them just being the same old same old, nothing new. But you see standard rock in them. I see them as same old same old, but I see them as boy bands with new hair doos and different outfits, sort of like putting new clothes and hair on Barbie and Ken dolls. Maybe we are focusing on different aspects of banality, but that is what we both see, just nothing new or creative. Britney got old and went crazy. Boy Bands are not boys anymore, now we call it Emo, have to pretend it is something different to market it.

...

Maybe you are right that Emo or whatever the name may be is a modified version of some Boy Bands from the 90's, but am i really able to judge the taste or abilities of others? If years later someone like Robbie Williams grows out of the "banality" of a Boys Band, then banality has a wide range in my opinion ..

I personally would prefer that the kids go crazy when Muris enter the stage, but i can understand that an average audience have problems to get access to more advanced music. Maybe for some of them it's a starting point ..

Hey guys.

I don't know the bizarre stuf.. But I know Tokio Hotel and I don't like it tongue.gif

But I do give those boys some credit anyway.. Just holding a band together as teenagers must be an achievement.. rolleyes.gif

I think maybe that some of those boys could be able to make some good music later in their career.

Why do guys who look like chicks get all the girls, first Poison now these clowns!? laugh.gif It's these kind of poppy bands that really make me appreciate bands like Mastodon, Opeth, and BTBAM, just the fact that Tokio Hotel and Mastodon can both exist in a world that isn't in complete chaos amazes me! laugh.gif

I guess I am gonna be the first to say that each member of Tokio Hotel looks like they would have nothing to do with the one next to them. First thoughts at the picture were, a band with an emo/scene kid, gangster, skateboarder, and a redneck.

And I notice the guy on left and right (skateboarder and redneck) look pretty athletic and in shape, while the emo/scene kid is pretty scrawny, and you can't tell with the gangster because his shirt size is way too big for him

God, I just can't get over the shear randomness of this picture.

True. Tolerence is very important. I can't judge anybodys elses taste, but I can express why it's not in my taste.

Still admire you for killing the TV smile.gif

These bands (the pre-packaged ones) can be or be not, they are just nothing to me. Uninteresting. A void.
I can't say if they are good or bad because I don't care. I don't listen to them. I'm not interested in forming an opinion even.

I do have a weird fetisch for the old school glam bands like Sweet. And Poison even. They are so cute in their effort to be bad guys and still they look so innocent. They give the impression that they don't take it too serious themselves and I like that.

I don't like Tokio Hotel because I really don't think kids should be world famous. It's just not healthy. I bet it produces a HUGE amount of ego and selfishness in them, even before they have to pay taxes.
And their clothes and two tins of wax in their hair don't help either...

Example: Look at The Jackson Five tongue.gif None of them is pretty "right" tongue.gif

Check the other band' myspace (Cinema Bizarre)... It took me more time to discover if the singer was a man or a girl... This remembers me to the first album of Poison.
I can say that Tokyo Hotel has some nice voice melodies in their songs and hits. I don't know the other band but I read that they are the main competitor of Tokyo Hotel.

The first Poison album ROCKS btw! laugh.gif
The cover is another story though unsure.gif laugh.gif
