Alexiaden93 - Iron Maiden Style |

Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.
The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

I have to say that I am really having a hard time judging this take. When you play leads it all sounds fine to me, aside from bending and vibrato, you could still work on both a bit, but thats just a minor thing I would say. The problem is that I can't judge at all what you are playing when it comes to rhythm stuff cause your sound is completely over-distorted and you have absolutely no attack because of this. So what should be the typical Maiden galloping rhythm part turns into a big "broooaaaaaahhhhhh" for me, I can't hear anything of what you are playing there. But don't worry, you are not the only one falling for this "trap", so please guys, a heavy sound does not need 10 distortion pedals, the more gain you add, the less attack you will have in the end, please be very careful about your gain settings.

I agree with Marcus. I told you about your sound on MTP, it sounds like you're on the neck pickup position. Check your settings. Overall playing is pretty good.

Well done with playing! I think the sound needs some heavy tweaking as it is way too muddy and flubby in the low end.
