ok we all know the setup, two pickups, three way switch, two tone, two volume. Problem is when im in the middle position (Both pups together) and turn the volume pot for the neck pickup all the way down, I get nothing from the bridge pickup even though the volume pot is on full? same thing if i reverse the volume pots as well?

So am i going mad then?

... or you change the wiring smile.gif.... to have both pots independent, one for each pickup.

On my strat i have two volume pots and one tone pot. One master volume for both pickups and one volume pot only for the neck pickup. I like to have the neck pickup on something like 95% to have a softer sound, but when i switch to the bridge it's on 100.

why would you put it in the middle position and turn one of the pups volume all the way down??

i mean.. that would be the same as leaving the 3-way switch on the pup you want to use instead of using it in the middle?

i usually play using both pickups when i want the soft-deep sound of the neck pickup while slightly adding some cutting treble.. smile.gif

Now that's very interesting question and on spot.
If you wanna use only one pickup then go for 1st or 3rd position.
For blending use middle position. smile.gif
