Delay depends on the type of licks and backing, but always reverb+chorus.

1) I use distortion in some form.
2) I use delay. Not reverb. I always feel it sounds better with delay, no reverb. I probably will use some spring reverb in the future, to special cases.
3) I don't use a wah much, but have one, and probably will more.
4) I use the expression pedals.
5) I use a pitch shift that really is like an octave.
6) Equalizer, primarily the 2nd and 3rd highest band, when I want to make pinch harmonics stand out more.
7) My Zoom g9.2tt has a great noise gate. It does not effect your sound, just cuts out noise when you quit playing. Which is nice, so I use that. Andrew and Tony claimed these effect sound, and maybe some early versions did. But this one makes no changes in the sound that I can hear, which makes sense, it only kicks in when you quit playing.

I stay away from anything like chorus or flanger. To me they take away from dynamic things that you do with your fingers.

Views are subject to 180 degree changes.

edit: spelling, and to make sure I did not say anything that was not nice. I thought one of my cats was going die (she was so sick) and promised God that if she lived I would be nice from now on. And she recovered.

I don't have very much effects. When I play through amp: The reverb thing on the amp is great, Dunlop CryBaby and Boss SD-1. I don't really need more except a delay pedal and a chorus. We'll see when I find something that blows my mind. Then I'll buy a new pedal. Otherwise I like staying pretty clean (effect wise) and not mess things up. I don't want to lose any dynamics or so.

Looks like we are all looking for the same general grease. Didn't really see much in terms of Phaser or Flanger. Kind of interesting. I didn't even think of Reverb since I almost always have a little bit added in from the spring reverb in my head. I agree with most though delay or echo is a must. It can really fatten a monster lead. Just wish I was a Monster lead player!! huh.gif

I like a nice hall reverb with 300ms delay for riffs and chords, and 400ms delay for some solos. A nice compressor to smooth out the sound is nice also. I'm not crazy about modulation effects except for some very clean stuff every once in awhile.

i havent used delay for quite a while...(mainly to ensure my playing is getting masked by it when i practice to see i do it accurately)

But my most used pedal is my overdrive OCD
