Metronomes are great tools for developing timing, precision, speed, and for keeping track of progress.
But sometimes it is good to play with a real drummer. I 've bookmarked a bunch of famous drummers on youtube to practice with from time to time. Here's an example: Bernard Purdie https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wa-K4LouFVk...feature=related Steve Gadd https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZZLLYEzKE8...feature=related John Bonham Grooves https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_upK-4eH4pk...feature=related John Blackwell https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GAb50o6xQD4 Jeff Porcaro Style- Rosanna https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HaUoc-T-qtA...feature=related The Stone Roses https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mMvRxzmefSI...feature=related Have fun |

And if you don't like the drummer hit pause and he stops playing. That never works with real drummers.
