I wish people could just borrow a book or something instead.

When I was a kid there was no frikkin internet.

The internet is for lazy people btw (<- I learned this expression from my internat pal, tbh. <- this one too)

Non-internet era did help with eartraining though, I hated rewinding cassette so much I really learned to focus when I tabbed the solo I wanted to learn biggrin.gif

Indeed, and those casettes sounded so much better than my FLACs files anyway! wink.gif

Yeah you are right...

The only thing which annoys the hell out of me with this new medium is that it's insanely hard to order books from facebooks. Supposedly you should be able to order from anywhere in the world (even from the Amazon river), but I still haven't figured out how to.

Like I said, things were better before.

Well, for a 20 year old like me who has never owned a cassette and has only heard MP3s or FLACs... I don't know how vinyl or casettes sound. I wish I could have a listen smile.gif

I'm lucky because I caught both period. I grew up without internet and with music on cassette and vinyls. Was an essential period for my ear training. This was a very big advantage for me. Very often I still avoid to use tabs.
So, theoretical I can live with and without internet.
Practical without internet it means, no GMC, instructors, pictures as in Ben's example and this is not good.

Same as that!! The very first copy of Guitarist that I bought didn't come with a CD, or a tape, or even a Flexi-disc!! (Remember them??)

...I think most people speaking about the "good old times" are heavily biased by their personal nostalgia. So I think your time is better spent exploring new technology rather than digging into obsolete stuff.

And those who don't at least explore it will be even more heavily biased due to ... not exploring.

Possible! Or - maybe they will play a heavy explorer due to... cold bias. Instead of using digital technology. ph34r.gif
