Thanks, Todd It's not a bad call on the lead, I'm gonna see where I can add something.

Congratulations on putting together something this epic! The sections are different enough from each other to keep it evolving in interesting ways, but they sound connected enough that it never sounds like you just string a bunch of unrelated guitar parts together. Sometimes you come back to an idea, but it might be worthwhile doing more of that to make the whole thing more cohesive. And maybe some more dynamics. You have some quiet sections, but it might help to have really big sounding sections to take the listener on more of a journey. For example, the dynamics in the drums don't change very much. I know I've said this before, but the synth sounds that you're using are a bit on the cheesy side and I think that detracts from the overall work. The only reason that's so noticeable is because the guitar part is so good .

I write synthesizers for a living, so I'm familiar with how challenging finding distinctive sounds can be . I'd recommend my own synthesizers to give your songs a more robust sound, but the selection of the sound is only part of it. The other part is making the sounds expressive. The synth sounds in your tracks don't have a lot of motion or expression in them. Again, it's only the fact that your guitar parts are so damn good that it makes shortcomings in any other part of the track stand out .

If you really want to try some new synth sounds, you can download SAMPLETANK FREE from ik multimedia. Here is the link. Wads of sounds for FREE which is always good
http://www.ikmultimedia.com/news/?item_id=4555 But if you like the sounds you've got, you mentioned that you liked em a bit "Cheesy", then you can just skip the sampletank and use reaper. Or look for cheesy bits in sampletank The good news is, you do have options if you wanna try new sounds and it's free Here is a vid on how to use sample tank inside Reaper. So yeah, your call! Todd Thanks, Socky!
It was definitely a lot of work and has been in progress for a while in the form of other songs Unfortunatey I don't have access to any good synth sound, so I've just used Reaper's own ReaSynth with some reverb and some delay |

I wouldn't recommend Sampletank for your style (that's not a synth anyway), but Zebralette, Tyrell, or Crystal would be good choices. -------------------- Cyber-industrial music and video animations:

Even trying other synths, I always return to a sound similar to what I have produced with ReaSynth. What kinda sound would you suggest, Rammikin?

If that's because that's the sound you want, then stick with it. After all, this is your musical vision .
If you're looking for ideas on other ways to design, arrange, and mix your sounds, check out something like the New World album from Dave Kerzner. https://open.spotify.com/album/6AU0cVvu0H5nMdZHvDy9Gu He has a prog/spacey style. It's not necessarily about finding magic or secret sounds that sound "good". Rather, he uses arrangements and sounds that are expressive and complement the track. -------------------- Cyber-industrial music and video animations:

I don't want to mislead you...good sound design takes patience, even with something like Crystal. I first created Crystal over 10 years ago and people are still doing amazing things with it that I never would have anticipated.

I think I've improved the mix slightly as well as added some keyboard notes in the pre-outro:

Thanks, Nikeman!
I tried going for a more crispier mix, though I don't know how to achieve it really. I think I somehow got it though. |
