Ok, that's fine of course. It is indeed not a simple lesson. I would be more than happy to help with certain aspects, so feel free to discuss them with me.

Good luck!

Well, vibrato in general (so without a bend) is already difficult to really master, and based on your previous video's I saw this is an aspect of your playing that needs some more attention (one of the reasons also for this lesson smile.gif). Bottomline is that your vibrato should be a very stable and constant series of small bends continuously returning to the original pitch of the note.

If you then again also do a bend first, it is quite normal to have a lot of difficulty to still produce a series of small bends around the already bended note. So your out of pitch feeling is a logical situation that happens.

One of the key aspects that helped me an awful lot, both with bending in general, but also with applying vibrato properly is to really dramatically slow down, play a certain note, and then applying the bending (with also checking after that whether I actually bended to the right pitch). When I wanted to apply vibrato on a bended note, I first started to do this very, very slowly and as constant as possible, primarily focussing on returning to the original bend note pitch. It took me quite a while to get to a reasonable level with this, and also to actually speed it up a bit and still remain in pitch during the vibrato.

So, the bottomline with this, is to apply vibrato really from the whrist, always focussing on constant movement and to do it quite calm and relaxed. You have to start doing this slowly in order to really work on the details before speeding that up.

You also mentioned that you have difficulties with the fast 32nd note phrase, could you specify a bit more what you find difficult here in particular?

I will work on the vibrato and my problem with the fast part is playing it in general but i guess i just have to work on it slowly and build up speed

Hi Isac

You are of course more than free to do whatever you would like to do. I would also be more than happy to move towards metal playing as well, but that's up to you whether you would like to continue with the MTP format or not.

Anyways, whatever you decide I enjoyed working with you the last couple of months and looking forward seeing your progress (either through MTP or in other ways) in the next couple of months smile.gif

Cheers
Roger
