Hi fellas,
I have an old strat I'd like to tinker with! The problem is I don't really know where to start - do you know any good tutorials for customizing guitars? -Kristian |

What's the guitar in question, you have a photo or something? What are the weak points of the guitar?

In a good guitar, which I guess a 900€ strat has to be it should sing pretty well and not die. But I belive the solution could sit in, not neccessaryly pickups and such, but how your guitar is set up. A badly set up guitar will not sound good even if it costed 4000€.
New strings - of course! Set the neck right! Measure and adjust the trussrod. This will do wonders to how the neck and body will sing. Check with Fender how your bridge should be set up. Some place the rear onto the body to achine better sustain, but a proper way can be described by Fender on your model. I'm talking about the gap between the rear and the body. If these things aren't set up right new pick ups and such won't help much. Perhaps a proper run through will be enough and make the magic you lack now. If it's badly setup today and you set it up right you can improve the sound a couple 100% !! -------------------- My bands homepage

Thank you for all your answers - I think I'll start by buying some new strings and getting used to adjusting the bridge and trussrod of my Strat!
