Hi guys,

Recently I have been working on new site functionality.

LOOPER

Attached Image
Loop over multiple regions, while controlling tempo with an accessible speed slider. Looper regions are saved for each lesson part. Try it here.

BEGINNER FILTER

Attached Image
A sitewide beginner filter, affecting lesson listings. Only want to see easy acoustic blues lessons? No problem! Try it here.

---

MORE

* The lesson planner is now ready, and now also lets you choose from existing templates when designing a plan.

* We have around ~40 lesson packages and more are coming.

* I have added a killer Chord Finding tool (by guitarapp.com) - on the tools page.

----

Furthermore, I am currently working on yet a new feature which I hope will be the most useful so far, hope I can pull it off 😅 🤞

You constantly come up with awesome additions. That looper is super cool!!! smile.gif

Kris, I have a suggestion. Is it possible to add on the tools page (or anywhere else) a guitar tab legend?
Recently, I talked with Gert about it and I explained to him the symbols from the tab in the message because I couldn't find this information in GMC (or maybe I didn't know where to look for it biggrin.gif). I think this could also be useful for other students.

Awesome you like it Monica 😁

That's a very good idea, we should def make tab explanations more accessible. I think maybe we should find a place for it inside lessons, close to where the tabs are.

Also, maybe we should just to choose to explain the most important legends? I figure the list could get very long and intimidating.

Agree, I also think that should be explained only the important ones. I mean, the symbols that are used constantly in beginner and intermediate level lessons.

Awesome you dig it Alex & Freepizza - means the world to know these additions are actually useful 😍🙏

@ Monica I think we could easily add an icon here:

Attached Image

...which would open a pop-up with the tab explanation. But we need to think of how to present the legend in a neat way.

There would be a perfect place to insert it. Very close to the tab, I like your idea. smile.gif

Awesome, looks and works great! Thanks so much for solving this so fast. smile.gif

Kris, one single thing is missing (apart from the PM which was mentioned in discussions but has not yet been written in the tab legend list). We don't have a duration legend but in many lessons we can see this noted.

Well caught, I added them here: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_fo...st=0#entry31871

Feel free to let me know if you think of something else or want to tweak!

This is great, just a few additions and it will be perfect. smile.gif

I took a look at several lessons (different levels of difficulty) and all the things that I found used in the tabs (regarding the duration) are these:

W - whole
H - half
Q - quarter
E - 8th
S - 16th
T - 32nd
. - note dotted

I think triplets are most often notated as |----3----| above the rhythm indication in ASCII tab. That's how I've always seen it done. Like this

CODE
     |----3----|
     Q    Q    Q    Q    Q       H        E  E  E.  S
E||---------------------------|-----------------------|
B||---------------------------|-----------------------|
G||--2----4----5----4----2----|--0--------2--4--2---0-|
D||---------------------------|-----------------------|
A||---------------------------|-----------------------|
E||---------------------------|-----------------------|

  |--3--|
  E  E  E  Q.     S S Q       W
---------------------------|-------------------||
---------------------------|-------------------||
---------------------------|-------------------||
--4--2--0--2------4-5-4----|--2----------------||

Yes Ben, you have right, this is how a triplet is noted. The brackets include the number indicating the type of tuplet.
In the duration legend we let a generic term and that's why we write in this way:

|-n-| - n-tuplets

Kris if you can also add this " |-n-| - n-tuplets" on our duration legend would be awesome. smile.gif

Yup, could be any tuplet of course! I just noticed you talk about triplets. Good point smile.gif

Great brainstorming, thanks!

I added this:

|-n-| - n-tuplets (so triplets would look like this: |---3---| )
