Hello guys! As I said in the thread "What book are you reading", I'm reading a book called "Catching the big fish" by David Lynch. In this book he shares things that gives him inspiration, creativity and also his experiences in art and films. One of the things that he names as the base of all his creativity and creation is the practice of Transcendental Meditation. I don't know too much about this so I can't share any experiences but I must say that I fell curious.. what about you? Do you know this technique? Have you ever tried it?

I don't know anything about Transcendental Meditiation, whether it is different from just plain Meditiation ?

I've read about meditiation quite a lot.. in martial arts books and self help style books. If you can cast aside any preconceptions about it being 'hippy' or 'mystical' it really does seem to make sense.

Inner peace and the natural state of being is all about nothingness.. being still. I read something about being still until the muddy water becomes clear. When you allow your mind to cease its anxieties over daily issues, you can allow inspiration and good things to come to you because you've created the room in your ind. Previously there was no room to accept new ideas because you were too caught up in the hustle and bustle of 21st Century life. Something like that.

Although I don't practice meditation I can understand this concept totally. Some people can create brilliant work whilst angry and fraught with emotion. I create best when my mind is free of worry and problems. Then I have a creative burst. smile.gif

That's a very clear concept Ben! I think that this is the real reason why meditation works for many people. Can't agree more about blocked mind because or diary issues and worries... I'm more creative in the nights and the reason is because nothing distracts me.. neither the preoccupations or worries of my mind...
