Hello all! As of this morning, I have officially been endorsed by V-Picks! I have been using them for some time now, thanks to Todd, and I can honestly say that I love them. Below is a link to the site. I do talk about them often in our Saturday chats, so no, I am not spamming the rest of you. I am just elated that they would endorse someone like me
http://v-picks.com/ I personally prefer the Stiletto Buffed. http://v-picks.com/productdetails.php?q=215&page=picks I got the idea to use it after Todd had a Switchblade Custom Buffed for his shredding awesomeness. http://v-picks.com/productdetails.php?q=214&page=picks These picks can be a bit pricey, but they are definitely worth it. The acrylic they are made of actually has a heat-activated grip! This makes it damn near impossible to drop them. Plus, they are comfortable and fast. Let me know if you have any questions. My custom picks are going to be complete in a week or two and then I will post a video on YouTube. Thanks for taking the time to read this! -------------------- All the elders have fallen down...

In the meanwhile, I bought a Pickboy "handmade bone" pick. Grips very well, and I do LIKE it.....but when compared to my Switchblade (now it's "buffed" from playing for a month!!) the tone just doesn't compare! Plus, the bone pick has just a bit of "resistance", thus slowing down my "top picking speed" a bit, whereas V-picks are very fast and light.
Also, I picked up several of the Dunlop Tortex Sharps, in heavier gauges than I used to play. V-picks taught me that a thicker pick can change the tone. My thought was, "Tortex always felt great, and gripped well....but I played a .88mm, and perhaps a thicker one will work well AND have better tone!!" If it did, it wasn't by much....and the tone was still the WORST when compared to the bone pick, or v-picks. I'm doing all this comparative investigation NOW, so I can settle into my perfect pick as soon as possible. I wanted to be onto my 3rd or 4th v-pick order already, and working on "modifications" to the grip. Oh well, I'll get there asap. -------------------- Check out my awesome Nintendo Cover-band, EMULATOR!! http://www.reverbnation.com/emulator Now.....go practice!! |
