Hallo Kristofer,

i'm a little confused about using my fingers.

At the moment i'm practicing the "horizontal position shifting" lesson.

Till now i used all four fingers while playing in a box and it worked fine.

Now when i shift between the boxes, i often don't know which finger i should use, the ring-finger

or the pinky. When i look at your fingers i can see that you only use three fingers for the most time.

Is there any rule when to use which finger?

greetings

Hans

The way I see it the rule is quite simple - be sure to adapt your fingering so that you need to move the whole hand/arm as little as possible.

I know that using the pinky in the beginning is tricky - still if your motivation is up to it I would suggest you practice it anyway! smile.gif
