i have a fander squire. sucs but looks good.
anyways
for somereason i have a raised bridge when i tune it to E.
althogh it has its benefits it prevents me from easily going to drop d and e flat.
so my question is, is lowering the bridge something i can do on my own and whats the danger in doing it alone(ringing from the lowerd strings or anything like that or even damagin the guitar?)

In order to make the bridge float with the body again, you have to remove the cover from the back of the body, and turn the screws a couple of turns which hold the springs of the bridge (so the screws go further inside the body). If this won't help you may have to add another spring to the bridge in order to increase the tension to hold the bridge float with the body.

If the action of your strings is too low after that, you can increase that of course to raise the saddles a bit. Check also if the neck is having the correct relief (otherwise a truss rod adjustment may be neccesary).

If reading all this is giving you a lot of discomfort, I would suggest taking the guitar to a guitar tech to set it up properly for you.

Check out the picture:

Make your springs as shown on the picture. Also tighten a bit the 2 screws on the left side. This should keep the bridge tight with the body. Do it step by step - don't push it.

It's something you can do on your own but always be careful.
I recommend to read:

Dennis Waring & David Raymond - Make Your Own Electric Guitar & Bass
Martin Koch - Building Electric Guitars
Dan Erlewine - Guitar Player Repair Guide

Those are excelente guides to repair, adjust and mainteince to the instrument.
